Daniel Salisbury began constructing Möbius Loops in 1997, following his initial urge to see if he could weave the loop with its twist, as a continuous seamless fabric. That success led him to explore various methods and materials to form up the Möbius Loop’s dynamically engaging & sensual curves. Changing with the light, the loops rotate with even subtle air movement, for a continually nuanced experience.

Rather than being digitally manipulated on a screen, Daniel’s Möbius Loops are created in 3 Dimensions, yes, through activity of the heart and hands!

Named for the ‘discovering’ mathematician, August F. Möbius, the Möbius band is simply a surface that is formed by attaching the ends of a strip (paper, metal, wood, etc) together after giving one end a half twist. Strangely, the single surface is “both” sides of the loop at any given point, and the single edge expresses “both”edges along the form.
